#FoundItAtTarget - Affordable Skincare Faves from my Happy Place
Target has always been that girl, but lately I’ve been finding some serious skincare finds that’s had me seriously impressed. Here are some new-ish skincare items that I’ve been loving.
BYOMA - This brand in general is definitely a star on shelf at Target. It’s a brand designed around treating concerns like acne and uneven skin tone while supporting a healthy skin barrier which is a sigh of relief to hear. I love the proposition because a healthy skin barrier fights acne better and heals from acne better to prevent scarring so when you pair a strong skin barrier with ingredients that promote cell turnover and clear pores - you get healthy and glowing skin. Here’s my faves from the brand, all available at Target.
Clarifying Face Serum ($15.99) - This acne serum is great for all skin types, especially sensitive skin types. It deep clean pores and boosts skin cell turnover with poly hydroxy acid and kills acne causing bacteria with zinc (one of my fave acne fighting ingredients). It strengthens the skin barrier with a tri-ceramide (ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids) complex. You can use this 2-3 days a week to treat acne and hyperpigmentation.
Moisturizing Rich Cream ($14.99) - This moisturizer would be a great pick for oily skin types. It seals hydration in with it’s tri-ceramide complex, but it also has bakuchiol to improve skin tone and texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines. It layers well under makeup as well.
Balancing Face Mist ($13.99) - FINALLY a drugstore hydrating toner with active ingredients. This toner has probiotics to strengthen the skin’s microbiome and protect from environmental stressors and allantoin to moisturize and soothe the skin. It makes a great hydrating layer before you go in with your hydrating serums and for the prize and size the value can’t be beat!'
cocokind Barrier Ceramide Serum ($19.99) - This serum is a must have for dry skin types and an impaired skin barrier. It was made with 5 types of ceramides and lipids that support’s a healthy skin barrier. I love to use this the nights I use retinol, it prevents any potential irritation and really gives that supple glow in the morning.
Naturium The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Hydrating Body Wash ($15.99) - Naturium has been going off in the body care category. Their multi-oil body wash is by far my favorite out the collection, it’s the perfect pre cleanse for your body before you go in with your regular body wash (good for body acne prone skin). This body oil is rich in linoleic acid, which helps your skin stay plump and firm, squalane to nourish the skin, and humectants to add moisture. I use this body oil as a shaving “cream” for a super smooth and close shave without irritation or post shave dryness.
Dove Body Love Peptide Serum + Pure Glycerin Age Embrace Pre-Cleanse Shower Butter ($7.99) - I’m not gonna lie, this is not technically an "essential” product for a body care routine that supports healthy skin, but it sure does feel good on my skin under some warm water. This is a body conditioner made with peptides to help boost collagen and elastin in the skin and glycerin to hydrate and it definitely gets the job done. I use it with my hands before I use my body exfoliating glove to wash myself with regular body wash and that combination has been having my skin smooth as ever. I also love to use it after I’ve just shaved my legs to deliver some extra hydration and prevent the dry and rough feeling you get after shaving.
WLDKAT Go to Glow Skincare Set ($38.99) - With “outside” being open again and everyone getting back to traveling again, this is a great TSA friendly set to have handy for the person who wants to maintain healthy skin on the go. This set has all your essentials (minus sunscreen) with a full regimen you can use daily, both day and night, when you travel. It features a travel size of their Patchouli + Cherimoya Gel Cleanser which is a great daily hydrating cleanser for all skin types, a travel size of their Ginger + Kombucha Tonic which I’m obsessed with for evening skin tone and maintaining supple skin, a travel size of their Mushroom + Moss Moisturizing Gel Cream for lightweight hydration that won’t give oily under the humidity of the tropics, and their Orchid Stem Cell + Magnolia Berry eye cream to hydrate tired eyes from traveling. All products are antioxidant rich which is great to keep handy when you’re traveling to combat environmental stressors on your skin.
Cheers,
Kahina
